Seneca Valley Falls in First Round of PIAA Baseball Playoffs

The Altoona Lions defeat the Raiders by a score of 9-4.

After claiming the , the baseball team fell to the Altoona Lions in the first round of the PIAA playoffs Monday night.

The Lions posted a 9-4 victory over the Raiders at Pullman Park in Butler.

Seneca Valley elected not to start Matt Smith, who was the winning pitcher in the WPIAL title game, according to MSA Sports. Player Austin Bream was 3 for 4, and Zach Creedon was 2 for 3 for the Raiders, MSA Sports reports. Senior pitcher Zach Detillio took the loss for the Seneca Valley.

The Raiders end their season at 18-5.

With last week’s win, Seneca Valley earned back-to-back WPIAL titles. of reaching the PIAA Class AAAA final.
