Seneca Valley Defeats Fox Chapel, 54-15

The Raiders win over the Foxes and advance to the WPIAL playoffs.

Seneca Valley is again heading to the WPIAL playoffs.

The Raiders beat the Fox Chapel Foxes during Friday’s away game by a score of 54-15.

Running back Forrest Barnes rushed for 238 yards and had four touchdowns in the first half of the game, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Starting quarterback Jordan Brown was 9 of 13 for 105 passing yards. Mike Jones, the Raiders junior quartback, also saw action in Friday's game and threw for 113 yards, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Junior defensive lineman Steven Gaviglia also intercepted Fox Chapel quarterback Brandon Mitchell and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown, the Trib said.

Along with North Allegheny, Central Catholic, North Hills and Butler, the no. 5 Seneca Valley is among the AAAA division teams to earn a spot in the WPIAL post season.

The Raiders are now 8-1 overall.

The WPIAL playoff bracket will be announced Monday night.
