Seneca Valley Boys Soccer Team Victorious in Overtime Win Against Pine-Richland

With the win, the Raiders are first in their section.

It took eight minutes and 16 seconds of overtime for the Seneca Valley boys soccer team to claim the No. 1 spot in the WPIAL's AAA Section 2 with a victory over rival Pine-Richland on Thursday.

The Raiders and the Rams battled it out on defense throughout both halves of the matchup. Shots that ricocheted off the crossbar, keepers who were on their game,  and four-on-one defensive strategies all contributed to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation play.

As the game went into overtime, both the Raider and Ram keepers were peppered with shots. The teams were evenly matched and, as the clock ticked down, it looked as though one overtime wouldn't be enough. With 1:44 left on the clock, SV's  Joe Chowansky got one past P-R's keeper on an assist by teammate Josh Allman.
