Seneca Valley Baseball Players Sign Letters of Intent

Sam Fragale and Zach Spangler will play college ball for Kent State and Virginia Tech.

Two Seneca Valley varsity baseball players are on their way to becoming college athletes.

Earlier in November, senior Zach Spangler signed a letter of intent to play ball for Kent State in Ohio. Fellow ball player Sam Fragale also signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech in Virginia.

A starter on the Seneca Valley team since he was a freshman, Fragale is a short stop. Baseball Coach Eric Semega describes him a staple both offensively and defensively for the team.

“He is a great kid and has a tremendous work ethic,” he said.

Spangler has been a pitcher on the team for three years and likely will be the no. 1 pitcher this school year, according to Semega.

“Both Sam and Zach deserve everything that is going on right now because they have put so much time and effort into baseball,” Semega said.

The National Letter of Intent is an agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. The student agrees to attend the institution and the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid.
