Rain On Their Parade: Seneca Valley Homecoming Gets Off to a Wet Start

There was a carnival Thursday at the high school. The parade was canceled.

Seneca Valley's homecoming festivities got off to a wet start Thursday as rain drizzled on and off throughout the carnival.

The weather didn't seem to bother the school's black-and-powder-blue-bedecked students as they frequented food and craft booths from various clubs and sports organizations at NexTier Stadium during the carnival.

A parade with fire trucks, sports floats, class officer floats and the homecoming court convertibles also was scheduled to take place in the event, but was canceled because of lightening.

On Friday, the Raiders will compete against the Shaler Titans in the homecoming football game. This year's king and queen will be crowned during pre-game festivities. The game will start at 7 p.m.
