Raiders Girls Soccer Teams Clashes With Titans

Seneca Valley carries the evening in a wet win over inter-conference rival Shaler.

The umbrellas were up and down Monday night as the Seneca Valley girls soccer team and the Lady Titans raced up and down the soggy turf of Shaler's Biles Stadium.

This was th and the second time the Raiders posted a 2-0 victory.

A corner kick by forward Morgan Williams resulted in the first goal of the game when Raider defender Melissa Lynskey headed the ball in with 24 minutes left in the half. The second goal, also by an SV defender, came from senior Raegan Dobbins with 27:17 left in the game.

One of the most intense moments of the game saw the Titan keeper fight off four scoring attempts by Seneca Valley in the same play. The shots were either deflected, bounced off the post, or cleared by the Shaler defense. SV's freshman goalkeeper Jess Neill also saved a power shot by Shaler forward Kristie Hamilton late in the second half.

The Seneca Valley Girls' Soccer Boosters also is raising funds to help support breast cancer awareness. Remember to wear pink to the next Raiders matchup!
