Raider Royalty: Meet Seneca Valley’s 2013 Homecoming Court

The district celebrates homecoming this week with a plethora of activities, including a parade and fireworks.

Make way for the court!

Seneca Valley is celebrating the onset of fall and the tradition of homecoming by combining the two and calling it the 2013-14 Seneca Valley Homecoming “Autumn’s Eve.”

With the theme colors of gold, maroon and burnt orange, participants at this year’s festivities can be guaranteed a host of fanfare, including a carnival, parade and fireworks.

To kick of the event, seniors chose 20 of their fellow classmates to serve as this year’s royalty.

The ladies of this year's homecoming court are Madison Zahorchak, Caitlin Wolf, Jane Vandrak, Brianna Sonson, Alexa Sisko, Sarah Nguyen, Kelly Lawson, Alissa Hill, Savanna Grinder and Natalie Byers.

The gentlemen of the court are Carson Tanda, Lucas Roman, Michael Rhein, Zachary Ratkus, Jacob Laskey, Noah Kastroll, Michael Jones, Daniel Hayden, Garrett Frank and Thomas Fitzpatrick.

The Seneca Valley homecoming king and queen will be announced during pre-game ceremonies at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 during the matchup against North Hills High School at NexTier Stadium.

Here’s the look are the rest of this week’s homecoming activities:

From 5:30 to p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, a carnival will be held at the secondary campus in Jackson Township. The event includes a variety of food and activity booths. 

At 7 p.m., the homecoming parade will march through the campus alongside with the Seneca Valley Marching Band, class floats, sports teams and community groups. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show at 8 p.m.

The festivities wrap up on Saturday with the annual homecoming dances, which will be held at the intermediate and senior high schools.

Note: Due to the Seneca Valley homecoming parade and carnival, there will be no late (5:30 p.m.) activity bus run on Oct. 10. The buses, which will all be parked in front of the senior high school, will leave campus at 4:45 p.m.
