Penn-Trafford Defeats Seneca Valley Girls Soccer Team

The Raiders falls to the Warriors in a non-section match-up.

It was a long 80 minutes for the girls soccer team on Saturday.

Having just come off a on Wednesday, the Raiders battled the very quick and very physical Penn-Trafford Warriors. 

The non-section game played at Seneca's NexTier stadium was fast-paced from start to finish. SV's players struggled to connect with each other while the Warriors speed and precise passing dominated the first half of play.

With 14 returning seniors this year, Penn-Trafford out-maneuvered the Raiders through most of the first half.

The Warriors first goal came with 23:09 left in the first half when a Seneca Valley defensive collision led to a goal by PT senior forward Bre Novosel, who was assisted by senior Katie Dutt.

After a near miss by the Raiders with 19 seconds on the clock, Seneca Valley was unable to drop one in the net. The score at the end of the half remained 1-0.

Novosel scored another goal less than three minutes into the second half. Although the Lady Raiders stepped up their game and had numerous shots on goal, they were unable to get one past the Warriors keeper.
