Online Seneca Valley Spirit Store Goes Live Today

The online store will carry Raider-themed T-shirts, sweatshirts and more.

Starting today, will be able to buy their Raider-themed clothes without ever leaving their computer desk.

After months of planning, goes live today, said Greg Caprara, Seneca Valley’s athletic director.

The site—which can be found at www.senecavalleypridestore.com—will start off by selling 16 different styles of items that can be mass-produced. Besides T-shirts, polo shirts, and sweatshirts, the store carries a pair of blue-and-white plaid pajama bottoms that Caprara thinks will be a hit with students.

“We even have the jammie pants everyone loves to lounge around in,” he said.

Caprara said the merchandise will vary with the holidays. The district’s booster and parent/teacher organizations also are welcome to sell their wares on the site. Caprara said Seneca Valley may provide a link to the online store on the other organization websites.

Swan’s Sport Shop, a sporting goods store in Ohio, is operating the site at no cost to the district. Swan’s also is responsible for maintaining the site’s inventory, sales, and shipping. The district will receive a 20 percent cut of the company’s gross sales on the items.

While in the planning phase, the district requested proposals from vendors Seneca Valley already uses to operate the store, Caprara said. Only one company responded, and that company went bankrupt shortly after it signed on with the district, he said.

School Board member Eric DiTullio added the district also tried to hire local businesses, but none was able to run the online operation.

“We did try to use local businesses first,” he said. “They just couldn’t do it.”

The items range in price from $15 for a Raiders T-shirt to $36 for a polo shirt.

“There are a lot of things here for everyone,” Caprara said.
