Seneca Valley Girls Soccer Team Trounces Butler Tornadoes
The Raiders are undefeated in the WPIAL Class AAA Section 2 standings.
The Butler Area Tornadoes had their work cut out for them Monday night as the No. 1 ranked girls soccer team rode into their home turf.
The Raiders beat the Tornadoes by a score of 5-1.
Seneca Valley clinched the number one spot in the WPIAL Class AAA Section 2 standings with their last month. The girls have been steadily moving their way up in the Top 10 WPIAL AAA rankings since mid-September.

On Monday, the Raiders maneuvered their way through a heavily-defended goal guarded by Taylor Troyan, Butler's senior keeper. SV's first goal of the night came from sophomore Myra Charles with 18:18 on the clock. Teammate Kayli Kumanchik, also a sophomore, followed up with another goal, giving Seneca Valley a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The second half started off with a bang when forward Morgan Williams sailed the ball past Troyan less than one minute into the action. Williams scored again later the half. Senior defender Raegan Dobbins also scored off a corner kick by Williams that put the Lady Raiders up by 5 points.

With six minutes left in the game, Butler's Alexa Gray broke through Seneca Valley's defense to score the lone Tornado goal of the evening.
