Haine Middle School Rainkeepers are Conservation Winners

Students are recognized by the Butler County Conservation District.

The Butler County Conservation District recently honored fifth-grade students in teacher Allison Stebbins’ Rainkeepers program at Haine Middle School with its 2011 Outstanding Youth Award.

The group received the award during the district’s annual youth awards banquet in late March. Through the years, Stebbins’ students have won numerous awards for their conservation efforts—and they continue to promote the use of rain barrels as a way to conserve water.

The Rainkeepers routinely provide educational classes to members of the community. Both of the workshops they held this year at the were filled to capacity.
