Former Superintendent Tylinski May Return to Seneca Valley as Consultant

School officials will vote on hiring Dr. Donald Tylinski at their next meeting.

He only just retired, but former superintendent Dr. Donald Tylinski may soon return to – this time as a consultant.

On Oct. 10, district officials will vote on whether to hire Tylinski as a consultant to help in the transition of to her role in leading  Seneca Valley.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tylinski would work on an as-needed basis from Oct. 10 through Dec. 22. He would be paid a daily rate of $800. The contract would not exceed 40 days.

A former principal at Connoquenessing Valley Elementary and Seneca Valley Middle School, Tylinski served eight years as superintendent Although his official last day with the district was Sept. 28, he used vacation time to leave his post in late August.

Formerly the assistant superintendent of human resources and pupil services at Seneca Valley, Vitale was named superintendent on Sept. 20. She joined the district in 2002 and has served as assistant principal and principal at

Linda Andreassi, district director of communications, said Tylinski's experience in leading the district already has come in handy. After a was discovered on Thursday, Tylinski gave his guidance to Vitale, who was spending her first official day on the job as superintendent.
