Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Conversations with the Community

Seneca Valley Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale will meet with area residents for “Conversations with the Community,” From 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School.  

Another "Conversations” will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at St. Ferdinand's Education Center in Cranberry Township. Additional forum times are also available in January, March, April and May. Visit the Superintendent's Office Page for more information.

2. Cranberry Board of Supervisors

Find out in person what’s going on in township government. Cranberry’s board of supervisors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 inside council chambers at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.

3. Cranberry Turkey Chase 5K

Happy Thanksgiving! Join the Seneca Valley Cross Country Boosters at Graham Park Thursday, Nov. 22 for the First Annual Cranberry Turkey Chase 5K. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race is at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 if you preregister and $25 on race day. For more information, visit SenecaValleyCC.com

4. Zelienople Christmas Parade

The annual Zelienople Christmas Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 on Main Street. Catch up with Santa after the parade at his house located at the corner of Main Street and Grandview Avenue in the borough

5. Butler Christmas Parade

Butler's 48th Annual Spirit of Christmas Parade takes place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, November 24

The parade will begin with honoring troops as U.S. Army Reserve Units (316th Asphalt Detachment, 315th Concrete Detachment, 301st ESC) kick offs the event as the Grand Marshal. All floats (featuring civic organizations, businesses, high school bands and restaurants) will be adorned with lights. The event leads into the Butler Light Up Night festivities at 7 p.m.
