Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Seneca Valley School Board Meeting

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when meet at 8 p.m. Monday at the in Jackson Township. The board is expected to vote on the first reading of a revised student wellness policy as well as the second reading of a new allergy policy.

2. Seneca Valley Middle School Art Show

Every year students at have an opportunity to display some of their artwork at the Cranberry Municipal Center on Rochester Road. The show kicks off Monday and last through March 23. The public is invited to view the students’ original creations at the center daily from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

3. Taste of Historic Zelienople-Harmony

You don’t want to miss this. The very first Taste of Historic Zelienople-Harmony will be held from 5 p.m  to 8 p.m. at the American Legion in Zelienople. There will be food and beverages from area restaurants and specialty food establishments.  The night also will include auctions and entertainment. 4. The Shamrock Shuffle Half Marathon and 5K run/walk

Are you feeling lucky? Join St. Patrick’s Day revelers for the annual Shamrock Shuffle half marathon and 5K run/walk on Saturday. There also will be a 1-mile family fun run/walk at the event. The event kicks off at 7 a.m. at For more information, call Joella Baker at 724-321-4265.

5. St. Patrick’s Day

Where will you be heading on Saturday? Nominate your favorite St. Patrick’s Day destination in this week’s Readers’ Choice poll. We’ll accept nominations on where to head in the Cranberry Patch until 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
