St. Alphonsus School Registration Day
St. Alphonsus School in Wexford will hold its annual registration day for new students. The school will be accepting students for 3-year-old preschool, 4-year-old preschool, and grades kindergarten through eight.
St. Alphonsus School traces its rich educational history back to 1889 when a one room schoolhouse was erected on the current site to educate parish children. As the population and enrollment grew, a larger school was built in 1955 with classrooms for grades one through eight, a library, cafeteria and a school office. In 2003, the school building was greatly enlarged with the addition of classroom space for kindergarten, computers, art, music as well as a faculty room and office space. The following year, the state-of-the art Ryan Center gymnasium was completed, offering students a gym, stage, locker rooms. It is one of the largest parish elementary schools in the diocese.
Tours of the school can be arranged and/or questions answered by calling the school at 724-935-1152, extension 501 or by emailing pattyanfang@zoominternet.net. Also needed for registration is a just a copy of the student’s immunization record and any custody papers. (No copies will be made at the school.) If the student is transferring from another school, a request for a copy of their report card and school records will need to be completed. Registration will be complete once all forms are submitted and the non-refundable fee of $75 per first child and $50 for each additional child is paid.
