31st Street Bridge Long-Term Closure Begins Monday
The 31st Street Bridge will be closed to all traffic long-term beginning on Monday, July 2.

The closure will occur from approximately 6 a.m. on Monday around-the-clock through late December. Traffic wishing access Herrs Island from Lawrenceville will be detoured using the 16th Street Bridge to River Avenue.

Crews will remove and replace the last four spans on the north end of bridge necessary to create a new grade-separated interchange with Route 28 and Rialto Street. These four spans were not rehabilitated as part of the 31st Street Bridge project completed in 2007 in anticipation of the future improvements on Route 28.
