State Funds $240,000 Grant to Link Cranberry, Marshall with Brush Creek Trail

Planners from both communities will meet this month to discuss the project.

More than just roadways will link Cranberry and Marshall townships in the future.

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources recently awarded Marshall a $240,000 grant to construct a trail segment that will link the community with neighboring Cranberry along Brush Creek.

The DCNR money will fund the development of 1.35 miles of walkway from Allegheny Commons in the south to Thorn Hill Industrial Park in Cranberry, according to Cranberry Township.

The project will expand Marshall’s trail system and align it with the bicycle and pedestrian master plan that Cranberry’s board of supervisors adopted last year.

Planners from both communities will meet this month as part of an ongoing dialogue about this and future trail connections, according to Cranberry.
