Route 68 Resurfacing Project in Evans City to Begin Tuesday

PennDOT said to expect traffic delays.

Starting Tuesday, there will be single, alternating lane restrictions on Route 68 in Jackson Township, according to a PennDOT Engineering District 10 statement.

Roadwork will begin on Route 68 between the Textor School Road intersection and the near the intersection of Route 68 and Route 528. Work east of that location will be done at night and during off-peak daylight hours.

Motorists should expect congestion and delays in the area, according to PennDOT.

The $1,533,571 milling and resurfacing project was awarded to Lindy Paving of New Castle. The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.

PennDOT reminds motorists to slow down and to be alert for changing conditions in the work zone. Pay attention to flaggers directing traffic, and turn off cell phones to minimize distractions, PennDOT suggested.
