Round-the-Clock Road Restrictions to Start Again on Warrendale Bayne Road Near Cranberry Border

The project is expected to wrap up by summer.

Commuters on Route 19 at the border of Cranberry and Marshall Township near the Thorn Hill Industrial Park may want to allow themselves some extra time starting Monday.

Starting at 9 a.m. March 4, PennDOT will resume weather permitting.

During the project, traffic on Warrendale Bayne Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between the northbound I-79 (Exit 75) off-ramp and Harmony Road.

These restrictions will remain in place around-the-clock through mid-August.

The project, which began in August 2012, will create significant improvements for the traveling public on Warrendale Bayne Road between Route 19 and Brush Creek Road, a statement from PennDOT said.

Work includes reconstructing and widening for additional travel and turn lanes, improved drainage, traffic signals, ADA curb ramp installations, guide rail and bituminous resurfacing.

The project also includes improving the northbound I-79 off-ramp to Warrendale Bayne Road and the intersections of Innovation Drive and Warrendale Bayne Road and Route 19 and Thorn Hill Road.

Overall work is expected to conclude this summer.

The prime contractor for the project is the John Gulisek Construction Company of Mt. Pleasant.
