PennDOT Begins Work on Route 228

The highway restoration project in Adams Township is expected to be complete by mid-October.

If you travel the already-busy Route 228 be sure to allow yourself some extra time over the next month.

PennDOT has begun work on a $783,167 preventative maintenance and highway restoration project on Route 228 in Adams Township between Myoma/Crider Road and Warrendale Road.

Flagger-controlled, one-lane alternating traffic will be in place Mondays through Fridays between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is expected to be complete by mid-October, according to PennDOT District 10.

Work includes milling and paving as well as guide rail updates. Daytime one-lane alternating restrictions are possible. Centerline and shoulder rumble strips also will be installed, and work other than paving may be performed on weekends.
