Officials Appoint Mazzoni Cranberry Board Chairman, Manipole Vice-Chairman

The board approved the appointments unanimously during its reorganization meeting.

Cranberry officials, at Tuesday’s reorganization meeting, unanimously appointed Bruce Mazzoni chairman of the board of supervisors for 2012. He replaces , who was chairman in 2010 and 2011.

In a 5-0 vote, the board also appointed Mike Manipole vice-chairman. He succeeds Mazzoni.

Manipole, who is serving his first six-year term after being elected to the board in 2009, said he was excited about the appointment.

“The people who have been here for so long have been such great examples,” he said.

Mazzoni, who was in the November general election, also will be the liaison to the township’s administration department.

Skorupan will be the liaison to the and the public safety department, which includes ,  and emergency management. Manipole was appointed liaison to the parks and recreation board and the council of governments.

Supervisor Dick Hadley was selected as the liaison for community development, including code administration, the planning commission, the zoning hearing board and the building/fire codes board of appeals. 

Supervisor Dave Root again will be liaison to the public works department.

Officials also reappointed Jerry Andree as township manager. The firm of Campbell, Durrant, Beatty, Palumbo and Miller P.C. was reappointed as the township’s solicitor.
