New Traffic Signal Lights Up Freedom Road

The signal at the intersection of Freedom Road and Haldeman Drive goes into flash mode today.

Another ruby-colored traffic post is lighting up Cranberry. 

The new traffic signal at Freedom Road and Haldeman Drive will be turned on to flash mode today, according to PennDOT District 10. It is expected to be fully operational on Thursday. 

from Haine School Road to Haldeman Drive and make other improvements. Construction kicked off in July and took place in the evenings.

The work included widening Freedom Road from two to three lanes, installing the new traffic signal system and upgrading intersection safety.

One of the township's busiest corridors, Freedom Road has a traffic volume of about 25,566 vehicles per day. It was most recently paved in 1997, according to the PennDOT District 10.
