Look for Short-Term Lane Closures on Northbound I-79 Through Christmas Eve

Crews will work on highway from I-279 split to Cranberry interchange.

Work continues on northbound I-79 and that means short-term lane closures through next week from the I-279 split to the Cranberry interchange, PennDOT District 11 announced.

Weather permitting, crews will install cable median guide rail from Exit 72 [I-279 split] to Exit 76.

Intermittent northbound left-lane closures will occur daily next week, Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 20-24, according to PennDOt.

No weekend work or restrictions are planned.

The work is part of a $10 million project that includes numerous improvements on several I-79 bridges. All ramps and exits will remain open at this time. The overall project will be completed in early 2012.
