Look for I-79 Restrictions This Weekend

PennDot says to expect significant delays.

Drivers can expect more stop-and-go action on Interstate 79 in Marshall Township over the weekend.

According to a statement from PennDOT District 11, there will be single-lane traffic on Interstate 79 in both directions near Warrendale-Bayne Road on Friday and Saturday.

The restrictions will last from 10 p.m. on Friday through about 7 p.m. on Saturday. Significant delays are expected.

Crews already have completed work to reconstruct the left half of the Warrendale-Bayne Road overpass bridges. Work will occur this weekend to paint lines and install temporary barriers to shift traffic onto the newly reconstruct lanes. Work to improve the right side of the structures also will begin this weekend.

The $10 million project includes deck replacements, latex overlays, expansion dam replacements, substructure repairs, bituminous paving, drainage and guide rail upgrades, pavement markings, culvert cleaning and stream restoration, and other improvements on several I-79 bridges.
