Look for I-79 Lane Closure Wednesday Near Cranberry Exit

Two northbound lanes and the ramp will remain open

Get ready for some orange cones on your commute.

There will be a single-lane closure Wednesday on northbound Interstate 79 approaching the off-ramp to Cranberry in Marshall Township, according to PennDOT’s District 11.

Weather permitting, the restrictions will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews apply pavement markings.

Two northbound lanes and the ramp will remain open. 

The $10 million project includes deck replacements, latex overlays, expansion dam replacements, substructure repairs, bituminous paving, drainage and guide rail upgrades, pavement markings, culvert cleaning, stream restoration and other improvements on several I-79 bridges.

All ramps and exits should remain open. The project is expected to be complete this fall.

The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies Inc. of New Kensington.

PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Log on to 511pa.com or call 511 to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
