I-79 Short-Term Lane Closures Continue Next Week

The closures will occur between the I-279 and Cranberry/Route 19 exits.

Short-term lane closures will occur on I-79 between the I-279 and Cranberry/Route 19 exits next week, weather permitting, PennDOT District 11 announced.

Crews will continue installing cable median barrier and guide rail from Monday through Friday. No weekend work will occur.

Swank Associated Companies Inc. of New Kensington is the prime contractor.

Single-lane closures will occur according to the following schedule:

Northbound

  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 72 and 73 (I-279 and Wexford)
  • From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exits 73 and 76 (Wexford and Cranberry/Route 19)

Southbound:

  • From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Exits 78 and 73 (Cranberry/PA Turnpike and Wexford)

PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Log on to 511pa.com or call 511 to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
