The highway will be down to a single lane Friday night and Saturday.

Crews are completing work on the northbound bridge over Mingo Road and setting barriers and placing pavement markings to begin work on the northbound bridge over Warrendale Bayne Road, PennDOT said in its announcement.

When the work concludes Saturday, the northbound bridge over Mingo Road will be fully reopened to three lanes.

Traffic on the northbound bridge over Warrendale Bayne Road will be reduced to two lanes through mid-November to allow crews to rehabilitate the bridge.

Southbound traffic patterns at both bridges were changed two weeks ago. All restrictions at the Mingo Road overpass will end Saturday.

The $10 million project includes deck replacements, latex overlays, expansion dam replacements, substructure repairs, bituminous paving, drainage and guide rail upgrades, pavement markings, culvert cleaning and stream restoration and other improvements on several I-79 bridges.

All ramps and exits will remain open at this time. The project will be completed this fall. The prime contractor is Swank Associated Companies Inc.of New Kensington.
