2011 Results: Seneca Valley School Board
Newcomers Kelly Kopera and Jim Nickel move on to the general election.
The results of Tuesday's primary election virtually assure several candidates a win in the general election.
Cranberry Township resident Jim Nickel was elected on both the Republicn and Democratic ballots after cross-filing for the Region 2 area representing Cranberry Township. This means he will appear as a candidate on both the Democratic and Republican tickets in the fall.
Nickel defeated candidate , who also cross-filed to run on both ballots.

, a benefits consultant from Evans City, also cross-filed to run and was elected on both party tickets. She defeated incumbent board member for the Region 7 seat representing Evans City and Seven Fields. Scalamogna ran on only the Republican ticket.
Incumbent board President . also easily moved forward to the general election after running unopposed for a seat in Region 3.

No candidates filed to be listed on the ballot for a seat in Region 6, which represents Zelienople on the board. But during Tuesday's primary election, there was a write-in campaign for the vacated seat. According to poll results posted at the three Zelienople voting precincts, Moon Reid, a pastor at the Church of Christ in Zelienople, recieved the most write-in votes.
Dr. Sally A. Hanley, who is finishing up her first term on the school board, chose not to seek re-election in Region 6.
