U.S. Marshals and Butler Police on Friday morning arrested murder suspect Darnell Carlton Bouie at a home on East Locust Street in Butler.
Bouie, 35, was wanted for murder in West Virginia.
Police in Clarksburg, WV last month charged Bouie and Ennis Charles Payne with first degree murder in the Jan. 13 2010 shooting death of Jayar Poindexter in Clarksburg.
Poindexter is believed to have been killed during an attempted burglary at his home, police said.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Bouie was last known to live in Turtle Creek. He also frequented the Wilkinsburg, Homewood and Homestead areas, according to a statement from U.S. Marshal Steve Frank.
The U.S. Marshals Northern District of West Virginia Mountain State Fugitive Task Force was investigating Bouie’s whereabouts at the request of the Clarksburg Police. They developed information he was in the Butler area, Frank said.
Payne already was taken into custody. U.S. Marshals and Clarksburg police arrested him Sept. 18 at a home in Clarksburg.
Following his arrest, Bouie was arraigned as a fugitive from justice by District Judge Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg and held without bond. He is lodged at the Butler County Jail pending extradition to Clarksburg.
