Strong Winds: Forecast Calls for Gusts up to 50 mph

National Weather Service issues wind advisory.

You probably noticed this already, but it's windy out there.

In fact, it is so windy the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that is in effect until 3 a.m. Tuesday for western Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.

How windy is it? The forecast calls for winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

The strongest winds are expected through 7 p.m., then gradually will diminish through the evening.

Scattered tree and power line damage can be expected, the weather service said on its website. Minor property damage is possible with the highest gusts.

A wind advisory means wind gusts greater than 45 mph are expected. Winds that strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
