The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration estimates eight out of 10 child seats across the nation are improperly installed. Locally, that number is estimated at nine out of 10 seats with improper installation, police said.

Troopers at Butler also began participating in the NHTSA's "Click It or Ticket" campaign on Monday. As part of the campaign, which ends Nov. 27, state police will conduct aggressive enforcement relations to seat belt violations, regulatory traffic checkpoints and child passenger safety seats inspections.
