Ross Township Police Searching for Suspect in Child Abduction Attempt

A 7-year-old boy tells police a stranger tried to lead him from the Goodwill Store on Saturday.

Ross Township Police are searching for a man who approached and attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old boy Saturday.

According to police, officers were called to the Goodwill store in the Ross Towne Center on McKnight Road around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday after the boy told his mother a man he didn't know grabbed him by the coat and said, "Let's go."

The boy ran away and alerted his mother, who called police, according to a news release.

The man already left the area before officers arrived at the store.

Police describe the man as white, in his mid-to-late 30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy build and a goatee. He was wearing a red cap with a black stripe and a red coat with black stripes.
