Police Searching for Suspect in Summit Township Child Luring Incident

Anyone with information is asked to call state police.

State police in Butler are on the lookout for a man who attempted to lure an 8-year-old Summit Township boy into his truck.

According to police, the boy was leaving school around 4 p.m. on Tuesday when an older man got out of his pickup truck along Route 68 near Sullivan Lane and motioned for the boy to come to him. The man also told the boy he was a bus driver, police said.

The boy instead ran to his home, and the man left the area. The truck was last seen heading to Butler on Route 68.

An adult witness told police the truck is a two-toned red Dodge or Ford truck with a white center. It has a cap of an unknown color.  The man is described as white with gray hair and facial hair. He was wearing glasses.

Neighbors told police the truck recently had been spotted parked along Route 68. Anyone with information in this incident is asked to call state police at 724-284-8100.
