One Woman Killed, Two Injured in Adams Township Crash

Jennifer Sorg was killed Monday after a three-car accident on Union Church Road.

An Adams Township woman was killed and two others were injured after a three-car accident Monday on Old Union Church Road in Mars.

Adams Township Police Chief Bill Westerman said 31-year-old Jennifer Sorg, of Union Church Road, crossed the center line of the roadway near Chapel Ridge Lane about 5 p.m. She struck an oncoming car that Amy Lynn Reed, 28, of Butler was driving and then struck a car that Chester McGuire, 61, of Cabot was driving, he said.

The Butler County medical examiner pronounced Sorg dead at the scene, Westerman said. A 9-year-old boy who was in the car with Sorg was taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for facial and leg injuries. Westerman said police were not sure if the boy was Sorg’s son because his address was different than Sorg’s.
