Update: One Injured in Three-Car Accident on Route 19

Police believe a Cranberry man ran a red light, causing the pile up near the intersection with Rowan Road.

The intersection of Route 19 and Rowan Road in Cranberry was temporary shut down Monday morning while emergency crews responded to a three-car accident.

Police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said a 44-year-old Cranberry man was traveling north on Route 19 at about 6:30 a.m. when he apparently ran a red light and hit two cars heading in the opposite direction.

Mascellino said both of the southbound vehicles were turning left onto Rowan Road when they were struck.
