National Weather Service Issues 'Red Flag' Fire Warning for Cranberry Area

The warning is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Red Flag Warning until 9 p.m. Friday for a wide section of Western Pennsylvania, including the Cranberry area.

The Weather Service said a Red Flag Warning means that dangerous fire weather conditions exist because of the combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fine fuels.

Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
