Firefighters Respond to Brush Fires in Wexford, Adams

No injuries reported.

Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to a brush fire in Wexford that burned about six acres but did not damage any structures, according to a Wexford Volunteer Fire Company firefighter.

The Wexford firefighters responded to the call just as they returned to the station from fighting a morning brush fire in Adams Township off Blackstone Lane, according to the firefighter.

About six to seven acres were burned in Adams Township in an area close to residences, the firefighter said.

The afternoon fire was at a spot behind Ethan Allen Furniture store, east of Route 19 close to the Pine-Marshall boundary line.

Paul Parker, who lives near the area, posted a number of photos on Twitter and graciously gave Patch permission to print them. By about 5 p.m., he tweeted that trucks were leaving the area.

He tweeted that there are houses about 150 yards from where the fire was.
