UPDATE: Driver in Critical Condition from I-79 Crash

Kevin A. Conwell, 20, of Pittsburgh taken to Allegheny General Hospital.

UPDATED -- The 20-year-old Pittsburgh man who was injured Monday morning in a one-car crash on I-79 south of the Wexford exit is listed in critical condition, according to a Allegheny General Hospital spokesperson.

Kevin A. Conwell  was driving north on I-79 in the left lane when his 2001 Buick Century went off the left side of the highway and traveled along the berm and grass roadside before hitting a guide rail crash cushion, according to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The car continued pushing, crumpling the guide rail before entering a sunken portion of the median, where the driver-side wheel dug into the ground and forced the car to roll over, said the report.
