District Court: Retail Theft and Drug Charges

The following people were charged and waived their scheduled Feb. 17 preliminary hearings before .

Nicholas Anthony Perri, 24, of East Carson Street, Pittsburgh, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, drug possession with the intent to deliver and having a small amount of marijuana on him.

A patrollingofficer reported seeing the car Perri was driving parked at about 3:15 a.m. July 17 on Meadowbrook Drive . Perri and a woman were sitting in to the back seat of the car and attempted to duck out of sight when they saw the officer’s cruiser, according to the criminal complaint.

After a search of Perri and the car, the officer found Perri had a glass pipe filled with burnt marijuana residue on him. Police also found a mason jar containing marijuana, a digital scale with marijuana residue on it, numerous plastic sandwich bags and $505 in cash in the car. Perri also was carrying $168 in his wallet, the complaint said.

  • Vanessa Lynne Keenan, 27, of Fleming Avenue in Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft. Cranberry Township police reported they were called about 4:45 p.m. Dec. 19 to theafter a store loss prevention employee said he saw Kennan place several items of merchandise in a shopping cart and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The employee said he confronted Keenan as she tried to exit the store with the unpaid-for merchandise, which included board games and clothing. According to the criminal complaint, the value of the merchandise was $204.57.
  • Sara Beth Gasper, 27, of 8th Avenue, New Brighton, was charged with retail theft. Cranberry police reported a store prevention loss employee at the Walmart store on Route 19 saw Gasper remove numerous items from the display racks, remove the price tags and then conceal the items in a green handbag at about 12 a.m. Feb. 8. Gasper then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items, according the criminal complaint. According to the criminal complaint, the value of the merchandise was $219.80.
