Cranberry Township Police Department Issue Warning

Police urge residents to use caution, assist with local rash of burglaries.

The issued a press release asking local residents to be extra observant in light of the residential burglaries that have taken place in the last few weeks.

According to the release, since July 5, there have been six residential burglaries with most occurring in the western portion of the township including Cranberry West, Creekwood and Crossings neighborhoods.

The majority of these burglaries have occurred in the daylight hours while the resident owners are not at home.

The most recent occurrence was July 20 at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Jennifer Drive in Cranberry Township.

Police ask all Cranberry Township residents to assist with crime prevention efforts within the community by reporting any suspicious people or activities, including open doors to residents or other things and activity that appears out of the ordinary. Residents are instructed to call 911 immediately to report this information.

Residents are also urged to use extreme caution when people knock on their doors and ask for someone who doesn’t live at their homes or unfamiliar people working in area neighborhoods.

The Cranberry Township Police instruct residents to lock all exterior doors even while at home and during daylight hours.

The police ask anyone with information that may assist them in making an arrest in the burglaries or any other crimes to contact the Cranberry Township Police Department at 724-776-5180 ext. 5.
