A store employee, who declined to be identified, said he was sleeping in the building's office because his car had broken down in the area when the break-in occurred. He did not confront the burglar, but said he managed to catch a glimpse of the suspect as he ran from the store.

With cardboard and plastic covering the door until it could be replaced, the mini mart opened as usual Tuesday after the incident. The worker added he and the store owners were shocked by the burglary.

“We would never expect that here because Cranberry is a safe place,” he said.
