That same day, Hefferin also drove Shirvani to a home on McKinney Road in Pine Township that Shirvani attempted to burglarize, the complaint said.

Hefferin told police he saw Shirvani emerge from the rear of the North Boundary Road home with several pieces of jewelry and a bottle of Xanax, the complaint said. Police said they found those items in Hefferin’s car.

After driving Shirvani to the Pine Township home, Hefferin claims he left the area but retuned a short time later to take Shirvani home, the complaint said.

The rear doors on both homes were damaged. The kitchen window at the McKinney Road home also was destroyed, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, Shirvani, of Cranberry, admitted to the burglaries and implicated himself in two other residential burglaries.

The 25-year-old Shirvani is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal use of communications facility in the burglary of the home on North Boundary Drive.

Cranberry Police said detectives already had Shirvani's home under surveillance on Aug. 12 when the burglary on North Boundary Road was reported about 4 p.m. When Shirvani returned home, officers arrested him.

Hefferin is set to be formally arraigned April 3 in the Butler County Court of Common Pleas.
