13-Year-Old Girl Injured in Bike Accident

The teen was taken to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A 13-year-old girl was injured after a bike accident Wednesday evening on Haine School Road.

Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said the girl was riding her bike around 9 p.m. near the Freedom Square Shopping Center when she ran into a car traveling on Haine School Road.

Mascellino said the girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. He did not know the extent of her injuries. Police are not releasing the girl’s name, he said.

He said he does not expect charges to be filed against the driver of the car involved in the accident.
