On any given day, it may seem as though the Kardashian sisters are taking over the world. Turn on the TV, and there’s a Kardashian in your face. Walk down the grocery story and, Bam! Kim, Kourtney or Khloe are staring at you from the tabloid pages in the checkout aisle.
Is it any wonder Kardashian is now a unit of time?
In case you live under a rock, Kim Kardashian on Monday filed for divorce from NBA player hubby Kris Humphries after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss. Their extravagant, $10 million-dollar wedding was recorded for television, and E! later aired the requisite two-part Kim’s Fairytale Wedding special.
Many, many times.
Now, in the wake of the tabloid frenzy following Kim’s filing, some clever person is poking fun at the whole overblown affair with the Kardashian Calculator.
A “Kardashian,” you see, is now synonymous with a unit of measure representing 72 days of marriage. Plug in your anniversary using the calculator and find out how many Kardashians years you’ve been married. It’s now the rage on Facebook.
I married my (very lucky!) hubby on Sept. 13, 2008. In Kim years, that’s 15.93 Kardashians. I also thought it would be fun to apply the calculator to the Pittsburgh area Patch sites, most of which launched last December. That’s 4.51 Kardashians!
