Black Friday Sales: What Cranberry Shoppers Need to Know

While some major retailers planned to open their doors as early as 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, plenty of deals will still await shoppers Friday at Walmart, Target, Best Buy and elsewhere.

With each passing year, it seems Black Friday begins earlier and earlier—6 a.m., then 5 a.m., then 4 a.m. This year, Black Friday actually started on Thanksgiving night.

Should you be one of those traditional folks who don't believe in Black Friday shopping until it's actually Black Friday, however, here's what you need to know about shopping opportunities in the northern suburbs.

Plenty of Black Friday deals are out there throughout the North Hills and Cranberry.

Among them is Nordstrom, which proudly trumpets its longstanding tradition of not putting up Christmas decorations or starting holiday sales until the day after Thanksgiving. A sign in its store windows reads: “We just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time.”

The Nordstrom store in Ross Park mall is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Walmart in Richland and Cranberry townships were open all day Thursday and the same goes for Friday. The Cranberry store is open 24 hours every day, but the Richland store closes at midnight on Black Friday.

Walmart offered holiday doorbusters and its biggest deals between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday while supplies lasted. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.
