Services Set For Cheyannia Marburger

The 8-year-old from Evans City was the inspiration for this year's Cranberry CUP.

Visitation and services have been set for 8-year-old Cheyannia Marburger, the inspiration for this year’s Cranberry CUP.

Friends and relatives will be received at the Kinsey-Volz Funeral Home, 114 West Spring Street, Zelienople, on Monday Oct. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday Oct. 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Marilyn Kinney Chaplin of Evergreen Nursing Center.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude's Brain Stem Glioma, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, according to her online obituary.

Cheyannia was the daughter of Debra Plaisted and Carl E. Marburger. She is survived by her parents, her paternal grandparents, Arnetta and Andy Andrews of Mercer, maternal grandparents, Gary and Donna Plaisted of Evans City, brother Shayne Plaisted and sister Samantha Marburger and a niece, Seirra Plaisted.

Her special friends were Vance and Val Pierce, Jenn Herman, Zac Cummings, Bill Davis, Kayla Jones, Cory Mathews, Jentrey, and Bubbas Myers, her obituary said.

Diagnosed last December with an rare inoperable tumor on her brain stem, Cheyannia, of Evans City, died Friday morning. Prior to her illness, she was a student at Connoquesnessing Valley Elementary.

Along with her family, Cheyannia was chosen as the a nonprofit dedicated to helping local families.
