Peter J. Klein, Jr.

Family and friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home.

Peter J. Klein, Jr., 93, born Jan. 20, 1919 to Theresa and Peter Klein Sr, died Feb. 14, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Makowski Klein (2007).

Klein was the last surviving member of the the well known sandlot baseball city league championship team from the South Side that was comprised of the nine Klein brothers and coached by their father during the 1930s.

He was a former employee of the Brunning Company and completed his career as vice president of the engineering division at FL Haus Co.

Klein was a member of for more than 50 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus #3907. He was an avid sports fan, but his greatest passion and source of pride was the large family that he and Dorothy lovingly reared together.

He proudly shared stories about his children and grandchildren with everyone. Pete was a kind and generous man of great faith who touched the lives of many during every phase of his life.

In addition to his wife, Pete is preceded in death by his two infant children Mary Margaret and James Peter, daughter-in-law Joanne (1998) and son Peter Andrew (2009).

He is survived by his children Tom (Paula) of Cranberry Twp, Jim (Sally) of Millvale, Mike (Linda) of Mason OH, Col. Martin, USAF, Ret. of St. Louis MO, Mary (Dan) Powell of Cranberry Twp, Rosanne (Mike) Cully of McCandless, Germaine (Michael) Krzan of Columbus OH and daughter-in-law Caelan Klein of Elk Rapids MI, 26 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at , 806 Perry Highway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at . The Most Rev. David A. Zubik officiating with Fr. Robert Vular concelebrating. Entombment immediately following at Holy Savior Mausoleum, Pine Township.

The Klein Family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Concordia of Cranberry for their exemplary care of their beloved "Petey,"as well as the supportive staff of Good Samaritan hospice.
