Three Weekend Art Events

Support the arts and local economy this weekend.

Friday night is the opening of the Art Faculty Exhibit at the Art Center, 344 Main St, Butler, PA.

The show features several art teachers from a variety of local schools. The show will have a second opening Oct.12, sponsored by the Cranberry Township Community Chest at the . Come out to support SV's own Jason Woolslayer.

This second event is for knitters and fiber art artists. A group has formed with the dream of "Knitting Pittsburgh Communities Together, One Bridge at a Time."  For more information about this group go to their blog, www.Knitthebrindge.wordpress.com.

This weekend, supporters of "Knit the Bridge" with be at A Fair in the Park, a three day craft fair in Mellon Park ( Fifth & Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232). The knitters will be there Friday 1-6 p.m. and Sunday 12-4 p.m.

They encourage other knitters to join them, just bring supplies and a chair or blanket. Also, they will have extra supplies for anyone who wishes to have a free lesson.
