Have you ever wondered what is the big deal is about buying VO5? Many clients have asked!

The defining answer is too many chemicals! When you purchase shampoo and conditioner for your hair, plus body wash, make-up and lotions, you are coming in contact with all different types of chemicals.

It’s time the consumer knows what exactly it is that is so bad for you!

  1. Parabens: are a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives by cosmetic companies. Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas. These compounds, and their salts, are used primarily for their bactericidal properties. They can be found in shampoos, commercial moisturizers, pharmaceuticals, spray tanning solution, make-up and toothpaste. They are also used as food additives.
  2.  Sulfates: Found in most shampoos and soaps, sulfates comprise a family of ingredients that includes the commonly-used foaming agents Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). These sudsy "surfactants" can contribute to moisture loss in all hair and can cause color-treated hair to fade prematurely.

These chemicals are the leading cause of rashes, irritation and many more harmful problems. Harmony Salon has taken a step forward in producing chemical- free products. Mothers Milc is the solution to chemical free life style!

Mothers Milc had a goal to provide natural salon-quality products that have a limited impact on the environment. Every day, our team used many chemically-enhanced products that damaged and hampered the hair’s natural renewal process.

Additionally, all of these chemically-enhanced products were packaged in petroleum-based plastic bottles that are a drain on our earth’s natural resources to both produce and dispose of.

Our solution was to develop our natural soy milk products that utilize natural ingredients and environmentally-friendly paper cartons for packaging. Our paper-based cartons garnered from responsibly managed forest means that each tree borrowed from nature is replaced with a young seedling.

Once grown, the trees durable fibers make the carton light and its carbon footprint small. Small production runs ensure that each Mothers Milc product reaches consumers at an optimal level of purity, compared to mass-produced hair-care products that can sit on shelves or in warehouses for months or years before it is purchased.
