The Tillotson family plays an integral role in the Pittsburgh business arena and is actively involved in promoting the Pittsburgh community and its charitable organizations. The late Willard J. “Bill” Tillotson, Jr. founded Hefren-Tillotson, an investment advisory firm, in 1948. Mr. Tillotson’s integrity, competence and years of personal service fostered the company’s growth into the largest and oldest firm headquartered in Western Pennsylvania. Bill Tillotson’s wife, Carol, is a founding member of the auxiliary, and both have taken part in and contributed to various Woodlands programs.

The Woodlands, which partners with more than 20 different charitable organizations, serves more than 8,000 participants annually. Its innovative programs and facilities include the Notes from the Heart Music Program, Mazeroski Sports Program, Creative Arts Program, Jewel in the Woods Spirituality Program, year-round aquatics, and adaptive golf at the region’s only “No Handicap” Golf Course.
